Scientology Initiatives Connect Human Rights, Prevention and Community Support
Across June and July 2026, a series of community and humanitarian initiatives brought together community leaders, families, educators and volunteers in Europe and beyond.
The activities covered issues ranging from eu news channel human-rights awareness and drug education to community cooperation and emergency response. They took place in cities including Madrid, Milan, Dublin and Copenhagen, as well as communities in Nepal and Venezuela.
In Madrid, members of different religious and cultural communities gathered to discuss the importance of dialogue in culturally diverse societies. The event also included cultural presentations that placed cultural identity within a wider discussion of respect and civic participation.
A related gathering in Milan brought members of the Sri Lankan community together at the Church of Scientology. Participants examined shared ethical principles and their role in community life. The programme drew on principles from The Way to Happiness, the non-religious moral guide written by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard.
In Ireland, Scientology volunteers brought drug-prevention information to the Clondalkin Festival. Families and young people were able to review materials designed to help prevent drug abuse before it begins.
Drug education also formed part of a multicultural pageant held at the Church of Scientology & Community Centre of Dublin. The event welcomed hundreds of visitors and contestants representing several countries. It combined professional achievement, traditional performances and drug-prevention awareness.
Human-rights education was another central theme. A Scientology Network documentary featured Rahul KC, president of Youth for Human Rights Nepal, and described how his work developed from school presentations into a broader national movement. His activities are based on teaching the 30 articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in practical terms connected with daily life.
In Copenhagen, diplomats, NGO representatives, political figures and community leaders gathered to mark Nelson Mandela International Day. The programme addressed the continuing relevance of Mandela’s legacy to civil society. Youth for Human Rights organisations were also recognised for years of educational activity.
The most extensive humanitarian operation followed the earthquakes in Venezuela. Nearly 400 Scientology Volunteer Ministers and partner teams helped coordinate emergency goods, transport and specialist assistance. European Scientologists contributed aid, while volunteers from Spain travelled to Venezuela to assist directly.
The work continued as the emergency shifted from immediate rescue to recovery. Volunteers helped with distribution points, logistics and continuing community assistance. The response reflected the principle that effective humanitarian work requires sustained cooperation beyond the first days of a disaster.
In Denmark, New Era Publications International received an HP Indigo award recognising its printing volume. The publishing house produces works by L. Ron Hubbard in 50 languages. Its production capacity supports access to Scientology religious texts, educational materials and humanitarian publications across a wide geographic area.
Ivan Arjona, representative of the Church of Scientology to the EU, OSCE, Council of Europe and United Nations, said the initiatives demonstrated how education, responsibility and cooperation can address social needs in very different settings.
